Facilities and activities
We are delighted to offer an exciting range of activities and facilities to enhance the learning experience for the children. These include:
Garden and outside play area
The garden provides the children with opportunities for natural play including a sand pit and mud kitchen, large grassed area and mature trees to explore. We have fruit trees, beds for the children to grow vegetables and flowers and a compost bin to encourage children to recycle. There is a canopy over our soft surface area which ensures all-weather outdoor play.
The pre-school is set on the edge of the village playing field providing access to a large open space and enclosed play area.
Every Monday morning, 11:15am-11:45am, we have a themed dance session in the village hall. A variety of dance styles are used to help the children to develop coordination and enhance rhythm. Dance from different cultures are used to tell stories, play games, and create fun activities for the children.
There is no extra charge for this class and it is open to all the children even if they do not attend the Monday morning pre-school session.
This is a weekly planned activity where the time is dedicated to exploring the natural environment.
During the session, the children explore natural resources, the weather and the creatures and animals in our local environment. This is a very popular session and takes place throughout the academic year.
There is no extra charge for this activity.
We are incredibly fortunate to have a Tots' French tutor visiting us once a week to provide the children with an introduction to French. The sessions include songs, activities and games. The themes are carefully chosen to keep the children engaged.
