Leafield Pre-school was established over 30 years ago and is a registered charity run by a voluntary management committee and paid staff.

The Pre-school is located at the rear of Leafield village hall in a purpose built room. We have an enclosed shock-absorbent rubber play surface, a canopy to ensure outdoor play in all weathers, a large grass garden and we are surrounded by the village playing field.

Children from the Pre-school move on to local  Primary schools in Leafield and the Wychwoods.

We are registered with Ofsted to care for 16 children aged 2 to 5 years. We are registered and Insured to care for children over the age of two.  However, we do welcome children to visit the setting before their 2nd birthday to help them become familiar with their new surroundings.  Parents or carers are expected to stay with the child during these visits at all times.

In 2008, we entered into a Partnership with Ascott under Wychwood Pre-school.  This has enabled both Pre-schools to share resources, facilities, training and increased staff flexibility.

We all know that size isn’t everything and one of our great attractions to parents is that we care for a maximum of 16 children at any one time, meaning we can offer levels of care and attention difficult to achieve in bigger settings.

We offer curriculum planned play based  activities aimed at progressing children’s development and preparing them for school.
